Finding Creative Commons Works

How do you find these works? These are a few of the places you might try.

OER (Open Educational Resources) Commons - - A large database of articles, images, music, textbooks, articles and much more, with open licenses.

The Creative Commons website has a directory of sites where some materials have Creative Commons licenses.

MERLOT (Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching) is database of online "learning objects" - worksheets, animations, tests, textbooks, presentations and more - intended for online teaching and learning. Many of these have Creative commons licenses.

You can also use Google Advanced search - restricting your search of Usage rights to "free to share" - to find these materials.

Next, we'll see how to apply what we've learned in this section.
